EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

Where can I work as a CNA?

HOSPITAL:

  • In a hospital, a CNA may have a different job title, such as Patient or Care Technician. Duties can include taking vital signs, caring for catheters, transporting patients, keeping patients clean, and sitting with patients. In a large hospital, the CNA may escort families or help with discharging patients.

NURSING HOME or ASSISTED LIVING FACILITY:

  • A nursing home setting is similar to working in a hospital.  Duties can include taking vital signs, caring for catheters, bathing patients, and assistance with feeding. Some CNAs decide to continue working in nursing homes throughout their CNA career because they have the same patients every day and enjoy the fast paced workplace.

PRIVATE DUTY

  • In a private duty setting you can provide home care for a patient or client. In your role as a certified nursing assistant, your duties may include helping elderly patients with daily activities, providing basic medical care, and giving vital care information to nurses and other caregivers. Many CNAs also help provide emotional support to patients. CNA's often care for several patients each day, so having your own vehicle and a valid driver's license is essential in this role.

TRAVEL DUTY:

  • Do you like traveling and experiencing new things.  Travel across the world and perform contract duty services.  Contracts can vary from 3 weeks to 23 weeks and sometimes even longer depending on the assignment.   Becoming a CNA provides medical professionals the perfect opportunity to assist those in need all across the country.
